Bow, bows, bows.

You may have noticed the bows in Lydia's hair lately. Her hair is FINALLY growing again and we are now able to clip a barrette in her gorgeous red locks. So I made her some more bows and took more pictures of her with bows in her hair. Soon my friend Andrea noticed the bows and asked if I could teach her how. So while visiting this weekend, we both put our girls down for a morning nap and began tieing and gluing bows to clips. Apparently after I left, ALL the bows went in Alyssa's hair AT THE SAME TIME. A definite fashion violation, but too funny not to share!

Lula Lake

Andrea and I took our girls to Lula Lake for a quick hike on Saturday. Lots of fun, quick trip, then home again to bathroom repairs and papers to grade.

Birthday Twins, Activate!

Lydia had a visit over my spring break from my friend Natalie and her son Connor. Natalie was my roommate during my last year in college. I was the RA in a freshman dorm, so she and two other very sweet girls were stuck following all the dorm rules, or getting very good at sneaking around when I wasn't looking. Too bad for them I was writing my thesis and ALWAYS sitting in my room typing with the door open. Flash forward 10 years. Natalie calls me one day and asks if I am pregnant. She was pregnant. Our other two roommates were pregnant. She just knew that I would be too. She was right. The other two girls were both due in March and Natalie and I were both due in June. Natalie was so miserable during her pregnancy that when my water broke five weeks early, I couldn't help texting her to share the news. She texted back her own news. She was already being induced. Lydia and Connor share a birthday.

Rock Band (Recessionista Style)

A little while ago Lydia was getting restless, so we handed her a few pots and a wooden spoon. She had such a good banging away, I wanted to share the pictures.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

St. Patrick's day began early in our house. Lydia was up and dressed and pulling up on our living room chair and looking at her reflection in the window. I couldn't resist snapping a picture and trying to convince everyone that she was looking for leprechauns!

Then it was on to the zoo to meet up with Nancy and the kids from daycare. The hat was meant to be a gag, I thought it was too funny and, again, I couldn't resist! The amazing thing was, Lydia never fussed about having it on, so it stayed on for a large part of the zoo. Eventually the hat did come off, and the sun came out, and everyone enjoyed a wonderful day at the zoo.

I blame Anna!

At our art show on Friday, my co-worker Anna had a lot of fun sticking her tongue out at Lydia. Lydia soon picked up the game and now........ she won't stop. The tongue has been out of her mouth all day! Really cute, but the combination of a kid who loves to bounce, is getting new teeth, AND now wants to have her tongue sticking out will certainly prove to be an exciting combination. THANKS Anna!

Spring has sprung!

Lydia and I enjoyed a beautiful Saturday afternoon outside. After two weeks of colds and flu, it felt great to get out of the house. The weather is warm and sunny and I am getting excited about my spring break the week after next.
