7 Months Old

Lydia turned 7 Months old this week, so here is the picture of her with her doll. Lydia is now very good with sitting on her own ans itching to crawl. I need to baby proof SOON or else this pair will have to remain imprisoned in the circus wagon crib to stay safe!
Jen and I leave this morning for New Orleans to run the marathon. Lydia will stay home with PJ for the weekend. Wish us all luck!

Just Checking ....

I'm trying to link Lydia's blog to my face book account.

The Dog Days of Winter

Lydia hasn't gotten many chances to wear her dog hat, but it was so cute, we put it on for a picture the other day. When ever she shows up at Kelly's with some form of animal clothing on, Sophie has to name her according to teh animal combination. She has a bear coat, so add a monkey hat and she is a bear-key. Add a tutu adn she is a ballerina bear. Add this hat and she could be Buckley bear!

Balerina Baby

Lydia was given this adorable outfit by cousin Sarah. We shot some pictures to send out as part of her Thank You cards, but I was so happy with them that I wanted to share.

Messy Monkey!

Contrary to how this picture makes it look, Lydia is actually doing very well with eating solid foods. She just looked so cute in her little monkey outfit, we couldn't resist taking a picture of our messy monkey, even if we had to encourage some of the mess! Lydia is now eating sweet potato, summer squash, butternut squash and carrots. She is ready for a new yellow or orange vegetable this week, but I can't think of too many others to try. I have a freezer full of orange mashed vegetables, so I think we will just stick with more of the same for the time being. We go back to the GI doctor in a week and hopefully we get his permission to add other colors and kinds of food and to move off of the most expensive formula known to man and onto the second or third most expensive. Mostly, we should be able to start feeding her a little more like a normal 7 month old. Its hard to believe she is that old already. I suppose a picture with the doll will be coming soon.

Sorry!

No posts lately. Sorry! I have blogs that I follow and I HATE it when that happens. I have great excuses. I forgot my laptop at work over a long weekend, that was extended by a SNOW DAY on Tuesday. (We got a whole 1/4 of an inch at my house and NO SCHOOL!) So it was snuggle with a very snuggly girl and watch the inaguration coverage and generally ignore all forms of work and e-mail and phones. Good Day. Pictures and posts coming soon.

6th Month Doll Comparison

So its a little late, but here is a picture of Lydia with her doll. Lydia is now able to sit on her own and so she is holding the doll this time. Other milestones since the 5 month comparison..... Lydia can roll over both ways, blow raspberries, and grab things (a skill that is making things like taking her picture, typing on a computer, or wearing necklaces difficult!). Congratulations Lydia on finally being able to do more than a house plant! PS. Lydia is growing hair. The doll just lost hers. Sorry mom! I'm going to blame Lydia and her new grabbing skills for starting the hair removal process.

Here is the gang at the Knoxville Zoo last weekend. It was cool, but not too cold to be outside for a few hours. not bad for January!

Double Lydia

I like the comparison between these two pictures. So here is Lydia right side up and up side down. Pacifier and no pacifier. Either way, she's a cutie!

Sweet hearts and sweet potatoes

This week we got a visit from some of our Iowa cousins. This is Sarah and Denis' son Zach. Sarah and I joked about arranging a marriage now and saving them both years of heartache and desperation. Lydia has started eating semi-solid foods. She can have rice cereal, sweet potatoes and just tried carrots last night. The GI doctor is big on beta caroteen, so it will be yellow vegetables for a while now.

Lydia Opening Gifts

I am still catching up on Christmas posts. Lydia really seemed to enjoy opening gifts on Christmas Eve and again on Christmas day. Once we got it started, she liked the tearing and crunching. The shiny bows also were a big hit.
